Faith in Our Work: A Reflection in Honor of Easter

At Heritage, we believe the foundation of great landscaping goes beyond the materials we use—it is built on faith, purpose, and a commitment to something bigger than ourselves. As Easter approaches, we are reminded of the Christian values that have shaped our family business for generations and continue to guide us in all that we do.

Scripture tells us,

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”  — Colossians 3:23

Our daily work is an act of worship when done with excellence, humility, and love.

Faith in Leadership

At Heritage, faith is more than a personal value—it’s a leadership principle. It shapes the way we treat people, the way we navigate challenges and the way we define success. Our leadership is rooted in the example of Christ, who led through service, compassion, and truth.

“For me, faith shows up in the little things—treating people with respect, listening before speaking or choosing patience over frustration,” said Kleck Harman, Senior Vice President. “I believe leadership is about service, and that starts with humility and grace.”

“Easter is the perfect time to reflect on the promise of hope and renewal found in our faith,” said Ashley McLeod, President at Heritage. “I see that every time we help a team member grow, complete a project that helps a community, or support a family. Faith gives our work meaning beyond the day-to-day—it becomes legacy.”

These aren’t just seasonal reflections. They are daily commitments to walking in faith—on job sites, in meetings, and in moments of decision. As Scripture says:

“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Philippians 2:3–4

Purpose in Practice

As we continue to grow across South Carolina, our purpose remains clear: to honor our heritage while building a future rooted in Biblical values for generations to come. Easter reminds us that no matter the season, renewal is always possible—in life, in work, and in our communities.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”2 Corinthians 5:17

From the office to the field, our mission is to uplift people, strengthen communities, and be faithful stewards of the trust placed in us. This Easter season, we are thankful for the hope we have in Christ, for the team that surrounds us and for the work we are called to do—not just for today, but for eternal impact.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”Romans 15:13
