In honor of National Outdoor Month, let’s talk about the importance of getting outside to enjoy South Carolina’s native landscapes and green spaces. Whether you’re looking for natural trails, mountains or rivers, the Palmetto State is home to seven geographic wonders explored each summer during the SC7 Expedition.
The SC7 Expedition is a partnership between Global Eco Adventures and the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor (SCNHC), two South Carolina-based nonprofit organizations. Heritage is a proud supporter of SC7 and its mission to promote workplace wellness by encouraging meaningful connections with nature across the state.
Heritage President Ashley McLeod, who serves on the board of directors at SCNHC, proudly strengthens our commitment to this cause.
Each summer, SC7 offers a 30-day hike across South Carolina following the Palmetto Trail, led by world-renowned explorer and South Carolina native, Tom Mullikin.

Along the route, there are opportunities to discuss key topics such as conservation, resiliency, fitness for all ages, outdoor therapy, floodwater mitigation and more. The goal of these fireside chats, led by key partners in the outdoor and conservation industries, is to inspire action that continues long after the expedition ends.
We’re grateful to SC7 for providing opportunities to visit South Carolina’s most iconic landscapes and fostering connections between healthy people and healthy places.
